Psychometrics

Chair: Prof. Dr. Holger Brandt

The research area Psychometrics deals with the development of statistical methods for answering psychometric questions in complex data sets. In particular, latent variable models are used and machine learning methods are applied to the behavioral and social sciences.

The central focus of the development work is on the following areas:

  • Developments in the framework of "dynamic structural equation models" for modeling intensive longitudinal data, e.g. from clinical psychology
  • Sparsity in complex models using Bayesian shrinkage priors
  • Causal models for the assessment of mediator variables
  • Modeling inattention in questionnaire studies (SNF project)
