The City – Your Campus
Founded in 1477, University of Tübingen is one of the oldest in Germany. Internationally renowned for its high quality, innovative and interdisciplinary research it is not only home to students and scholars from all over the world but maintains global partnerships with institutions of higher education and non-university research institutions. As of 2019 the university has once again been distinguished with the title of “excellent” by academic experts as well as the local and federal government. As a core facility the methods center is set to play a central role in the university’s exellence strategy.
In Tübingen, the city is the university campus. University facilities can be found all over the city and with a student inhabitant ratio of 1 to 3, Tübingen has one of the youngest populations in Germany. Lecture halls being scattered over the town is no problem at all, as any destination can be reached by foot in just a few minutes. Its cosmopolitan and welcoming atmosphere is completed by its traditional and picturesque medieval silhouette. Thanks to the high number of taverns, sidewalk cafés and restaurants as well as cultural events such as film festivals or seasonal markets you will have no difficulties spending your leisure time. For those with a need for nature, the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb are a paradise for hiking, cycling and skiing right on your doorstep.
