Writing in Qualitative Research

The Tübingen Spring and Summer Schools have a long tradition.

What is it all about?

The Graduate School of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences has been inviting  graduate students and young scientists from Tübingen and other universities to its spring and summer schools for several years.

Those who have to write a thesis on an empirical study face a number of different writing tasks: How to offer my research idea vis-á-vis a funding agency? How to do fieldnotes? What kinds of writing is approprate in analyzing empirical material? How do I appropriately present my findings in an internationale context? During the spring and summer schools these topics are presented by experienced and internationally renown scholars with whom participants discuss, try out and reflect on adequate writing practices for the phases of their research projects. There will be workshops, in each of which participants have the choice between active and passive participation.

You can take part in the workshops in an active way by contributing material from your own research for group work, or in a passive way by learning from the exemplary material of other participants.

Please note that all workshops are held in German.

Participation fee (including daily food):

  • 50 € for University of Tübingen participants
  • 60 € for participants of other universities
