Historical Photo Archive Georg Weise

The Institute of Art History’s Photograph Archive (Weise Archive) is located in the same building as the Prints and Drawings Collection. The Archive has been maintained since the 1920s and can be traced back to the Tübingen professor Georg Weise (1888-1988). In terms of content, it is linked in particular with his research interests on medieval Spanish and French architecture and sculptures. Photographs from the former Stuttgart Royal Collection of Copper Engravings can also be found in this collection. The photographs are of works of art from various artists.
