Department of General and Computational Linguistics

Excellence in research and teaching of Linguistics and Computational Linguistics has a long tradition in Tübingen. We offer small courses and intensive mentoring of students as well as a wide range of funded research projects in interndisciplinary and interdisciplinary contexts.

The SfS collaborates closely with colleagues in the GermanEnglish,Romance LanguagesSlavic Languages and Psychology Departments, including two Collaborative Research Centers going back to 1990 (SFB 340, SFB 441, SFB 833). 

Also, SfS researchers are members of the DFG Center of Advanced Studies in the Humanities Words, Bones, Genes, Tools - Tracking Linguistic, Cultural and Biological Trajectories of the Human Past (KFG 2237) and the Cluster of Excellence Machine learning for Science.
