You will receive an information e-mail within the next few weeks (after your enrolment) with further information about the start of your studies.

•  Before the start of lectures (from Tuesday, 01.10. to Thursday, 10.10.) there will be a Mathematics Preparatory Course. We strongly advise all first-year students to visit this preparatory course, as it will allow you to brush up your math skills and prepare you well for the math content you will learn in your first semester. Registration is possible until September 26th, 2024. All further information (incl. registration form) can be found here.
• In the week before the start of lectures (probably on Friday, October 11th, 2024, in the early afternoon) you will also get specific introductions to your respective subject. More detailed information will follow in the coming weeks.

•  For first-year Master students in Medical Informatics and Bioinformatics who have a Bachelor's degree in the field of life sciences and will study their Master's program according to variant B, a preliminary course “Computer Science for Life Scientists” will be offered in the period from 23.09 to 27.09.24. Registration is possible until 16.09. All further information and the registration form can be found here.
• The Cognitive Science Student Council offers a mathematics refresher course in the first two weeks of October for first-year Master students in Cognitive Science with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Psychology, Linguistics or a related subject. Further information can be found here.
• Information on further subject-specific offers for first-year Master students will follow in the coming weeks.

On Thursday, 10.10.2024, from 4 p.m. (c.t.), the term opening in the Department of Computer Science will take place in the Audimax (Neue Aula) for all students of the department. As part of the term opening you will get an insight into current developments; there will also be a brief presentation of various courses offered in the elective area.

The student councils Computer Science (FSI) and Cognitive Science (FSK) organize an informal social program with lots of activities to help you get to know your fellow students, students from higher semesters and the city of Tübingen. Further information can be found on the website of the Student Council Computer Science.

In addition, the university also offers central, interdisciplinary information on the start of studies around the beginning of the lecture period (e.g. introductions to the student administration portal “alma” and information events on the topic of “Studying with disabilities”).
