Dr. Matthias Schlee

Dr. Matthias Schlee works in the administrative office. He studied biology at the University of Tübingen, with a major in botany and minors in zoology, geology, and public law, focusing on environmental law. His diploma thesis examined vegetation development in the Beurener Heide near Hechingen. In 2014, he earned his doctorate with a dissertation on the phytosociology and molecular diversity of relict species, supported by a doctoral scholarship under the Baden-Württemberg State Graduate Funding Act (Landesgraduiertenförderungsgesetz). In recognition of his work, he was awarded the “Walter Schall Prize” by the Society for Natural History in Württemberg (Gesellschaft für Naturkunde in Württemberg e.V.), Stuttgart. He works at the IZEW since 2009.
