Conference of the Protestant Academy Bad Boll with Maria Pawelec
How are new technologies changing democracy and public life? This question is at the heart of a conference organised by the Protestant Academy Bad Boll on 18–19 October 2025, to which anyone interested in democratic processes, communication, artificial intelligence and opinion-forming is warmly invited!
At the conference, Maria Pawelec will speak about the political implications of deepfakes for democracy, social justice and gender equality. The discussion will also focus on the opportunities offered by this technology, for example in education and greater political participation. This will be followed by a workshop discussing various areas of application for deepfakes and exploring the question of how we as a society should deal with deepfakes.
Other speakers include Ina von der Wense from Otto Friedrich University Bamberg, Eric Dauenhauer from Politagents Consulting GmbH, PD Dr Martin R. Herbers from Zeppelin University and David Fischer from Politagents Consulting GmbH and AI4Democracy.
