Stuttgart Days of Media Education on 12 March 2025
Maria Pawelec talks about the dangers and potential of deepfakes; registration is now open!
On 12 March 2025, the Stuttgart Days of Media Education will take place at SWR Funkhaus Stuttgart on the topic of ‘Truth and Reality in the Digital Age: Media Education Perspectives’.
How do we strengthen society's ability to scrutinise and evaluate information? How do we develop sound media education practice in times of fake news, deepfakes and algorithmic distortions? What does competent action and critical thinking mean? What challenges do schools and educational institutions have to face?
The 47th Stuttgart Days of Media Education will address these questions in lectures, workshops and discussion panels. Among others, Maria Pawelec will speak on the topic of ‘Deepfakes: Dangers and potentials of audio-visual generative AI for politics and society’.
The Stuttgart Days of Media Education are a joint event of the Academy of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart, the Evangelisches Medienhaus Stuttgart, the Landesanstalt für Kommunikation Baden-Württemberg (LFK), the Landesmedienzentrum Baden-Württemberg, the Landeszentrale für politische Bildung Baden-Württemberg (LpB), SWR and the GMK - Gesellschaft für Medienpädagogik und Kommunikationskultur e.V. (Society for Media Education and Communication Culture).
