What is needed for a "good life"? AI from an ethical perspective
Presentation in the context of the event "Artificial Intelligence - Quo vadis: AI in all areas of life?" @ZAWiW, University of Ulm
The presentation summarizes the ethical questions arising from new human-technology relationships in today's society. What problems can be identified? Are there solutions? What does society need in dealing with artificial intelligence, especially regarding developments in generative artificial intelligence? What is new about it, and what new challenges come with it? Which aspects are relevant for shaping a "good life"?
Using specific examples and current research, topics such as information and disinformation, justice and bias, opportunities, and risks of applications are addressed. Regulatory and other solutions are presented and the speaker advocates for the development of new cultural skills and new expectations, language, and perception habits.
