S314 Computational Econometrics Using Stata

Course Format  

The course will have both an online and an in-person part. While the lecture part will consist of videos (provided via Ilias) which allows you to watch the material at your own speed, the practical sessions will be in person in the PC Lab.

The practical part of this course will consist of flipped-classroom sessions. There will be Problem Sets to each lecture which you can either solve in these sessions or - in case you have already solved them - ask me questions regarding the material of the lecture or the Problem Sets.

These sessions will take place on Tuesdays, 8:15am - 9:45am.

We will talk about all the formalities and the exact organization of the course in the first session (18/10/2022, 8:15am - 9:45am).

Please also indicate whether you are a Bachelor or a Master student as well as the courses you have already taken in the field of Statistics/Econometrics so far.

Course Outline

The goal of this course is to enable students to conduct empirical studies using micro data. Students will learn to use the statistical software package Stata in order to import, manipulate and analyze data. The course focuses on microeconometric methods.
