Biography

Chen Yi-Ling was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She received her bachelor degree in Department of Public Policy and Administration in National Chi-Nan University, and then began her Chinese studying in National Cheng-Chi University since 2004. Current position is PhD Candidate, and her ongoing dissertation is concerning China’s urban governance. In the past 6 years, she went to Shenghei for field study every summer. Her research interests include China’s political transformation and political participation, local elections and governance in China, Taiwanese local politics and community development.
