Jan Ruck

Short biography

Jan Ruck is a research assistant and PhD student at the Department of Politics and Economics / Political Economy. He studied Political Science and Rhetoric (B.A.) and Democracy and Governance in Europe (M.A.) at the University of Tübingen.

Since 2024, Jan Ruck is a researcher in the DFG-funded research project Infrastructures of Globalization. Strategies of the EU in the global competition for economic expansion and geoeconomic control (Project lead: Prof Dr Hans-Jürgen Bieling and Dr Joscha Abels). His focus in the project is particularly on the transformation of the European energy infrastructure. Previously, he was part of a BMBF-funded research project on public goods and the political organization of infrastructure provision led by Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Bieling and Prof. Dr. Matthias Möhring-Hesse.

His current research interests are European industrial and infrastructure policy, geoeconomic competition and European integration.
