The research area Innovative Educational Technologies works intensively on the development and research of cutting-edge technologies for education. In close and diverse cooperation with the Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology, the LEAD Graduate School & Research Network and the Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien (IWM), the aim is to create innovative learning scenarios that are made possible through the use of innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
Scalable prototypes are developed and scientifically examined through close interdisciplinary cooperation between educational sciences, subject didactics and computer science.
These should address challenges from a didactic perspective with advanced technologies and thus be both applicable in practice and scalable at the same time. The combination of findings from educational science and subject didactics with the technological know-how of computer science enables the development of solutions that meet the requirements of modern education. Media ethics expertise is systematically incorporated to promote the ethically responsible use of innovative educational technologies.
