For students and young researchers from Tübingen and the Arab world, the profect offered the opportunity to gain valuable experiences by studying, researching and giving courses in a different academic and cultural environment. The program was sponsored by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and ran until 12/2012. Total funding amounted to ca. 230 000 €

Study Abroad Program
Study visit
(a) at the Cairo University or at the American University in Cairo for students of political science from Tübingen University, including a full scholarship
(b) at the University of Tübingen for students from the Cairo University and the American University. The same conditions as above apply.
The study visit takes place in the winter term.
Junior Researcher Exchange
PhD candidates are offered the opportunity to stay as a junior researcher at Cairo University, at the American University in Cairo or at the Jordan University in Amman (Center for Strategic Studies).
Joint Learning
Beginning in autumn of 2011, we offered a joint course for students from both Tübingen and Cairo. At the start of the semester, there was a week-long joint meeting in Cairo in order to form teams consisting of German and Egyptian students. They collaborated on a common topic throughout the semester, using online communication. The course ended with a joint meeting in Germany.
