Practices and Discourses of Self-Measurement

Qualitative-empirical study (supervisor: Jörg Strübing) on the connection of discourses on self-optimization and self-care with the practices of so-called self-measurers, who use technical media and sensors for the digitized generation of quantitative data of their own body states, e.g. in sports, nutrition and general well-being, and use these data for self-experiments. (Methods: guideline interviews, artefact analyses, participatory observation, autoethnographies, qualitative media content analyses).
