The Equal Opportunities Officer is nominated by the Department of Geosciences and appointed by the Faculty Council. The term of office of the Equal Opportunities Officer is three years. The Equal Opportunities Officer's task is to support the work of the Faculty Equal Opportunities Officer at the departmental level.
The Equal Opportunities Officer
supports the department in ensuring equal opportunities for both genders
takes a position on issues of equal opportunity policy at the university
monitors the development and implementation of women's advancement plans
participates in the internal allocation of funds
serves as a contact person for conflicts with supervisors and unequal treatment in the workplace
Who is supported? The funds are primarily intended for young female researchers (doctoral and postdoctoral researchers as well as private lecturers). Financial support for projects leading to a degree (Bachelor's, Master's) is possible in individual cases.
What is supported? Projects that aim to fulfill the Faculty's equal opportunity plan. Basically, this involves the targeted promotion of young female academics.
Eligible Purposes
costs for scientific workshops to support networking / maintaining contacts with other female scientists
costs for participation in specialist symposia and conferences (subsidies depend on the purpose and activity at the venue)
costs for participation in workshops the field of gender competence
organization of our own seminars and workshops in Tübingen that serve to promote networking and role development for women
funds for student assistants, particularly during the final phase of doctoral or post-doctoral studies in justified cases (e.g., pregnancy)
measures to incorporate topics and methods of gender studies into teaching and research
support for measures to improve the compatibility of family and studies/career (e.g., childcare subsidies in exceptional circumstances)
Applications can be submitted at any time; the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Faculty of Science decides on them at regular intervals.
