International Fatma Moalla Award for the Popularisation of Mathematics

In 2017 the Association des Femmes Tunisiennes Mathématiciennes has created the International Fatma Moalla Award for the Popularisation of Mathematics to distinguish outstanding contributions in the understandable presentation of mathematical research for a general audience. The pize was awarded for the first time in 2018, and the first laureate is Dr. Sophia Jahns from the Mahematics Department of the University of Tübingen. She received the award for her scientific article Getting to know a beetle’s worlds-classification of closed 3-dimensional manifolds.
