Research

“I am a PhD candidate at the Department of Geosciences at the University of Tübingen with academic interests in geoarchaeology, soil micromorphology, prehistory and Aegean archaeology. As part of my PhD, I am examining the impact of the presence and activities of the Neanderthals on the ecosystem of the Hohle Fels cave in southwestern Germany, during the Middle Paleolithic. For my research, I am using both geoarchaeological techniques, such as soil micromorphology, as well as sedimentary aDNA and other techniques, willing to achieve a multidisciplinary approach on the studying of the Middle  paleolithic sequences of Hohle Fels. This research is part of the HUMAN ORIGINS Cluster of Excellence project “Occupational Intensity and Impact on Cave Ecosystems during the Middle Paleolithic at Hohle Fels, SW Germany”
