Abstract
The purpose is to conduct diversity- and gender-oriented accompanying research on the structural measures within the framework of the project "Structural Models in the Introductory Studies Phase".
The aim of the accompanying research is to conduct a reflexive-critical, ethnographically oriented analysis of the communication and action processes of the individual subprojects and their support measures based on the concept of communicative constructivism, such as the following:
1) counseling and mentoring in the form of first-semester counseling as an orientation aid in STEM, as well as mentoring after initial academic achievements in various subjects at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and
2) teaching and study formats to strengthen methodological skills and mathematical knowledge early on in social sciences and in STEM.
On the one hand, narrative interviews will help identify patterns of communication, interpretation, and action, as well as self-perceptions and perceptions of others among teachers/advisors, as well as of students/advice seekers (level of consciousness of the subjects). On the other hand, the teaching and counseling situations themselves are the focus of the analysis (level of communicative action practice) in order to explore content, processes, communicative styles, and patterns with the help of ethnography, audio, and videography. Questions concerning feedback effects, as well as the gender-sensitive implementation of diversity principles (promoting individual potential beyond compensating for disadvantage) continue to be the focus of the research.
With the help of a reflexive-analytical approach, critical reflection is not only to be ensured in the final results, but also in the methodology and the processes involved in the development of structural measures.
