The credit point system is an important component of flexibility in Tübingen's studies: students take exams after each semester. Preparation is facilitated by the fact that examinations are scheduled over a longer period of time. This has significantly shortened the duration of studies. The course design becomes more flexible, the contact between lecturers and students more intensive and the success of studies more predictable.
Flexibility also means students can freely decide which areas they specialise in in the third academic year of the B.Sc. programme. While some tend towards Banking & Finance, others are concerned with globalised labour markets - the students' options make it possible. Flexibility also refers to the place where students study abroad. Study achievements acquired at one of the 140 partner universities abroad or at other German universities are fully credited.
