Since the summer term 2013 the department of mathematics offers the focus study

Qualifying Programme Lehramt Plus (QLP).

It is adressed to students of the study programme for a Secondary Teaching Degree (State Examination according to GymPO) with mathematics as main subject who wish to deepen their knowledge in mathematics, to

• enhance their chances of admission to teaching-profession,
• be well prepared for subsequent doctoral studies, or
• fulfil the requirements to enrol for subsequent master studies in mathematics.

Besides the studies in mathematics according to regular teacher education the programme requires that

• the admission thesis is written in mathematics and
• further courses of the teacher education in mathematics in the extent of at least 45 ECTS-credits are attended successfully. (Crediting for subsequent master studies is carried out in accordance with the decission of the BaMa-committee from 30.01.2013)

To any participant of the programme a mentor is assigned. Participation in the programme is open to any student of the study program for a Secondary Teaching Degree (State Examination according to GymPO) with mathematics as a main subject. For successful participation in the programme students get a certificate, which contains the average grade of the successfully completed examinations.
