Institute of Historical and Cultural Anthropology

Exhibitions

Museums, collections and exhibitions are central to the profile of the Ludwig Uhland Institute of Historical and Cultural Anthropology (LUI). The museum as such has been a research focus of the institute for years and an important field of research-based learning for our students. This combination of museum theory and practice characterizes the institute. For decades, students and lecturers have been successfully setting up museums and showing exhibitions on cultural studies topics, both in the study projects during the master's program and in exhibition projects in BA and MA seminars. The LUI staff also regularly design exhibitions and are involved in collaborative projects.

The Haspelturm in Tübingen Castle is the LUI's own exhibition space. However, many exhibitions are also shown elsewhere in Tübingen and beyond (for example in Stuttgart, Ulm or Berlin). This page provides an overview of selected LUI exhibitions. Some of these exhibitions are in English, others in German – the information on the respective exhibition is provided in the conference language.
