J. Philipp Wagner

Philipp studied chemistry at the Justus-Liebig-University Gießen, where he obtained a Master's degree in 2012. After that, he pursued his PhD under the guidance of Prof. Peter R. Schreiner on the effects of quantum mechanical tunneling and London dispersion in organic chemistry. In 2016, Philipp joined the group of Prof. Mike Duncan at the University of Georgia in Athens as a postdoctoral research fellow doing infrared laser spectroscopy on rather exotic molecules in the gas phase. In 2018, he returned to Germany as a postdoc in Prof. Holger Bettinger's group and became an independent research group leader at the University Tübingen in 2019.

Serhii Medvedko

Serhii studied chemistry at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in 2018 and his master's degree in 2019. Alongside his studies, he worked at Enamine Ltd. in organic synthesis since 2016, where he also performed the experimental part of his master's thesis about the synthesis of monosubstituted spiropentanes. Currently Serhii works as a PhD student at the University of Tübingen, in a joint PhD program with KPI.

Virinder Bhagat

Virinder pursued his integrated BS-MS degree at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali, from 2014 to 2019 supported by a KVPY fellowship. Majoring in chemistry, he conducted research in Prof. Sugumar Venkataramani's lab for his master's thesis. In 2019, Virinder joined the group of Prof. Holger Bettinger as a PhD candidate, where he studied the reactivity of borylnitrenes. In September 2023, he became a postdoctoral research fellow in Philipp's group facilitated by an Exploration Grant of the Boehringer Ingelheim Stiftung. His current research focus lies on the radical-mediated activation of molecular hydrogen using matrix isolation and computational tools.

Jael Kunert

In 2018, Jael started her studies as a Bachelor of Education student at the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen. She obtained her BEd degree in maths and chemistry in 2022. Her Bachelor work dealt with the silica mediated electrophile addition of hydrochloric acid to lycopene as a school experiment. Currently, Jael pursues her Master's thesis in the group working on the chemistry of carbenes.
