Nanodrop (Peqlab)
- Open software ND 1000 Vers 3.1
- Click “User: Default” (left mouse button) to measure your sample; choose the application you need (DNA, RNA, Proteins, Microarray, …)
- Initialize the instrument with 1μl of ddH20:
- Place 1μl of ddH20 on the surface of the small metal platform
- Close the lid! DON´T USE THE CABLE FOR THAT ACTION, BUT THE LID ITSELF!
- Click “OK”
- Wait
- Blank/Measure your sample:
- Wipe off the water
- Load your blank/sample on the platform, always make sure that your sample is WELL MIXED! Work quick to avoid evaporation and inaccurate measurements
- FOR PROTEIN MEASUREMENTs (in this case a standard curve is required) 2μl are highly recommended, else 1μl is sufficient
- Close the lid
- If you wish, enter a sample ID
- Click blank/measure, wait until result is shown
- To summarize your measurement click ”show report”. The results can be stored as “.txt” or “.xls” file via the “save” button
- Wipe off your sample before you leave!
- Clean the instrument if neceassry either with ddH20 or 5.25% NaOCl (after bacteria measurement), NOT ETHANOL!!
