Ukrainische Migrationsexpertin Olena Malynovska in Tübingen!
Dr. Olena Malynovska vom National Institute for Strategic Studies in Kyiv ist vom 1. Juni bis 30. September 2022 zu Gast in Tübingen. Olena Malynovska erhielt im Rahmen des Refugee Scientist Program des Sonderforschungsbereichs eine Einladung nach Tübingen.
Das National Institute for Strategic Studies (NISS) der Ukraine mit Sitz in Kyiv ist eine der wichtigsten Forschungseinrichtungen des Landes und unterstützt öffentliche Einrichtungen sowie Stellen der Präsidialverwaltung mit wissenschaftlicher Expertise. Die studierte Historikerin und Policy-Expertin Olena Malynovska ist seit über zwölf Jahren leitende Wissenschaftlerin im NISS und forscht schwerpunktmäßig zu Migration und Migrationspolitik in der Ukraine beziehungsweise deren globaler Verflechtungen. Wegen des russischen Überfalls auf die Ukraine seit dem 24. Februar 2022 konnte sie diese Arbeit jedoch nicht mehr fortsetzen. Während ihres viermonatigen Aufenthaltes in Tübingen wird Frau Malynovska an einem Projekt arbeiten, das sich mit der ‚Bedrohten Ordnung Migration‘ in der Ukraine im Lichte aktueller Ereignisse beschäftigt. Ein kurzer Auszug aus der Projektbeschreibung:
The Мigration situation in Ukraine under the conditions of hostile invasion. Humanitarian Threats and possible Ways to overcome them.
The Russian invasion led to the mass displacement of Ukraine's population. It is estimated that up to 12 million people were forced to leave their homes, including 4 million people, primarily women and children, who went abroad. Іn this regard, the issue of accommodation of internally displaced persons, provision of social services for them, use of their labor potential in the local labor market of the regions of residence are extremely important. Equally relevant is the issue of the legal status of those Ukrainians who found themselves abroad, their registration, protection of rights, providing opportunities to return home […] The study will take into account the process of Ukraine‘s inclusion in the European migration system […] and an attempt will be made to determine the patterns of transformation of the migration behavior of Ukrainians in the conditions of war and to predict the further development of migration processes, as well as possible political responses to the challenges associated with them.
Hierfür wird Olena Malynovska in wissenschaftlichen Austausch mit den Kolleg*innen im SFB treten. Gerne steht sie mit ihrer vielfältigen Expertise und Erfahrung bereit, Impulse und Kommentare auch für laufende Projekte im SFB zu geben.
