His work at Troy in the light of recent scholarship Heinrich Schliemann has always been a controversial figure, and in recent times has been accused of being a pathological liar and of having fraudulently compiled Priam‘s Treasure. Donald Easton has made a uniquely detailed study of Schliemann‘s excavations at Troy and discusses the value of his work and the authenticity of his discoveries.
