At the heart of ALIFE is the ALIFE Academy. At the ALIFE Academy, we strategically design innovative, evidence-based online professional development courses in close collaboration with practitioners. These courses are specifically tailored to meet the needs of teachers. All offerings are systematically evaluated to continuously improve the quality of our professional development programs.

All ALIFE training offerings are characterized by a consistently implemented principle of adaptivity. This means that the individual needs and requirements of all teachers are taken into account to provide each participant with the best possible learning environment, one that neither overwhelms nor under-challenges. For example, prior knowledge and personal interests of participating teachers are considered in every course. To monitor the effectiveness of this approach, several research projects are being conducted. These focus on the impact of our adaptive training on motivation, learning success, self-regulated learning behavior, and later classroom practice. Participating teachers can give their informed consent to be part of these research projects, thus supporting the collaboration between science and educational practice. The research also helps optimize the professional development offerings.
