Gender Equality Commission of the ZITh

Welcome to the website of the Gender Equality Commission of the ZITh!

The Gender Equality Commission supports the University's Gender Equality Representative in the performance and implementation of her duties. It has also set itself the task of promoting awareness and appreciation of diversity and creating an awareness of equality. Furthermore, it supports the measures of the Family Office in the implementation of a family-friendly university.

 

The Commission currently consists of the following members:
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Lejla Demiri (Chairperson), Prof. Dr. Erdal Toprakyaran (Deputy Chairperson) and Zehra Gürler. The student representatives of the Commission are: Ceyda Akyol and Yusuf Türker.

Lecture Series Summer Semster 2016

In the 2016 summer semester, the Gender Equality Commission at the Center for Islamic Theology invited a number of international female academics who have made great achievements in researching other faith traditions. The lecture series entitled "Women and Religion" consisted of seven public lectures, a practical lecture and a documentation on the topic of women and religion from an interreligious perspective.
