A very important principle at our institute is the equal treatment of all people and the strict rejection of any form of discrimination.
To ensure comprehensive equality, it is important that discrimination against people based on their gender, (social) background, age, sexual orientation, or a physical or mental disability has consequences. And, of course, even before that, it is crucial that people who have experienced discrimination are listened to and receive support.
Have you ever had such an experience and felt like you weren’t being heard? That’s exactly what we are here for!
We are Karin Bürkert (Equal Opportunities Officer of the Institute), Annika Werker, and Paulina Haase (student Equal Opportunities Officers), and as representatives in the Equal Opportunities Commission of the WiSo Faculty, we are committed to your concerns. We are your points of contact in situations involving discrimination—whether it’s issues with fellow students or lecturers, questions about support and promotion of equality, or suggestions for improving equality at the institute.
You can also be assured: We treat your messages confidentially.
You can reach us at any time (!) at: studentische.gleichstellung.luispam prevention@gmail.com and Karin Bürkert at: karin.buerkertspam prevention@uni-tuebingen.de
We always have an open ear for you and will help wherever we can!
Even if you have questions about topics such as discrimination and equality, you can contact us at any time. After all, there are many ways in everyday university life to make these issues more visible at the institute.
For example, we are aware that the LUI is not completely barrier-free. Nevertheless, studying at LUI should be possible for everyone—this may be challenging due to our location in the castle, but it is not impossible. Please do not hesitate to contact us!
Would you be interested in a workshop or lecture on topics such as diversity, gender, disability studies, or gender equality? Do you have a speaker in mind who would be a good fit for an event at our institute?
Please feel free to send us your ideas and suggestions, because through the university’s equality resources, there is the possibility to invite interesting personalities to the institute!
Information about funding opportunities for (teaching) events, or support for attending conferences or in cases of caregiving responsibilities, can be found on the website of the Equal Opportunities Commission of the WiSo Faculty.
