The University of Tübingen sees diversity as the basis of academic excellence and therefore continues to develop a University culture in which all members can realize and utilize their individual potential. The University actively promotes equal opportunities and has designated institutions and contact persons to support the goals of equity and diversity.
The Gender Equality Representative is the University’s central contact for academic staff and for students in matters of gender equity. The Gender Equality Representative is supported by the Equity Team and by representatives in the faculties.

The term ‘equity’ emphasises equal participation and equal opportunities . The Equity Team is composed of experts from the fields of gender, diversity and care work. They offer advice and support in these fields to members of the University. The team supports the Gender Equality Representative and the Vice-President for International Affairs and Diversity.

Since fall 2024, the Gender Equality Office, Diversity Office and Family Office have been working together under the new name Equity Team.
The equal opportunities representative is the contact person for all non-academic University staff in matters of equitable opportunities at work.
