With the Industry Liaison Office, an effective infrastructure is available in addition to technology transfer to ensure that research results can be transferred into applications. Furthermore, the Industry Liaison Office acts as a link between science, politics, society and industry for the purpose of knowledge transfer.
Successful examples of industrial cooperations with social relevance in recent years are the LebensPhasenHaus for lifelong living with technical support within one's own four walls and the Competence Center Archaeometry - Baden-Wuerttemberg (CCA-BW), in which the direct connection of approaches in the humanities and history with developments in the natural sciences and methodology is realized.
An important instrument for establishing innovative research and development as well as application-oriented teaching are Industry on Campus projects, whose integration into university structures is supported by the Industry Liaison Office.
Additionally, by establishing the Liaison Office at the Tubingen Research Campus, the linking of projects with research and/or the service departments of Tubingen’s independent research institutions can be more easily initiated.
