Restriction on Admissions for Majors in Business and Economics

It is a pleasant fact that students find our study programs at the Tübingen School of Business and Economics desirable. The high demand for our programs in higher semesters makes an organized procedure for admission necessary.

Admission to higher semesters of a bachelor major

There are restrictions on admission to higher semesters in the following bachelor program:

  • Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration

Therefore, a new application is necessary. Currently, you can apply for the summer semester (application deadline 15 January) and the winter semester (application deadline 15 July). Prerequisite for the admission to a higher semester is a minimum number of recognized credits from the field of economics and business, as well as a free spot in the desired program in the corresponding semester. Please refer to the examinations office for information on the recognition of your previous academic achievements. For this purpose, you should enclose a current transcript with your previous academic achievements. You can apply for admission to a higher semester here.

Admission to the higher semester of the following degree programs is free from winter semester 2019/20:

  • Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration
  • Bachelor of Science in International Economics
  • Bachelor of Education in Wirtschaftswissenschaft

Please contact the examinations office for information on the classification and recognition of your previous academic achievements. You should enclose a current transcript with your previous academic achievements. Students at the University of Tübingen can register with the Registrar's Office by September 30/ March 31 at the latest with a placement certificate and a certificate of academic counselling. Students who have not yet studied at the University of Tübingen must first register via the application platform (by September 30/ March 31). Higher semester bachelor minor

There is no application process for admission to a higher semester of a minor bachelor subject in economics or business administration. The only requirement is that a sufficient number of credits can be recognized as equivalent to the courses offered by the University of Tübingen. Please refer to the examination office about whether your previous coursework is sufficient. You should enclose a current transcript with your previous academic achievements.

Students already studying at the University of Tübingen can register with the Registrar's Office by September 30/ March 31 at the latest with a placement certificate and a certificate of academic counselling. Students who have not yet studied at the University of Tübingen must first register via the application platform (by September 30/ March 31). Higher semester master programmes

There are general admission restrictions for the higher semester in the following Master's programs:

  • M.Sc. Accounting and Finance
  • M.Sc. Data Science in Business and Economics
  • M.Sc. Economics and Finance
  • M.Sc. International Business
  • M.Sc. General Management

Currently, applications are possible for both the summer term (deadline January 15) and the winter term (deadline July 15). Prerequisites for the admission to a higher semester are a professional qualification from the field of business and economics graded “good” (2.5 or better), a minimum number of recognized credits from the field economics and business, and a free study place in the corresponding semester.

Please refer to the examination office about getting your credits from previous coursework recognized. For this purpose, you should enclose a current transcript with your previous academic achievements. Admission to the higher semester of the other Master programs is free from the winter semester 2019/20. The prerequisite for entering the higher semester are a first professionally qualified degree in economics or business administration graded "good" (=2.5 or better) and a minimum number of recognized academic achievements in economics or business administration so that you can be placed in a higher semester. For double-degree programs, the course of study usually does not allow you to enter a higher semester.

Please check with the examination office for information on the classification and recognition of your previous academic achievements. Students already enrolled at the University of Tübingen can register with the Student Secretariat by September 30/ March 31 at the latest with a placement certificate and a certificate of academic guidance. Students who are not yet enrolled at Tübingen University must first register via the application platform (by September 30/ March 31).
