The memory of the rabbi of Glogau and teacher at the Berlin College for the Study of Judaism is honored by the foundation with a prize that is awarded annually in two forms. One is the Dr. Leopold Lucas Junior Prize, which is awarded every year by the President of the University for outstanding achievements by young academics in one of the fields of philosophy, history and theology cultivated by Dr. Lucas himself at the suggestion of the faculty concerned. The prize is awarded for an outstanding dissertation completed at the University of Tübingen.
