Bilge Kaan Güner is a doctoral candidate at the University of Tübingen's Research Chair on the Law of Artificial Intelligence. Bilge holds an LL.M. Degree from King’s College London and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Çukurova University. Bilge's specializations in his LL.M. were Data Protection, AI, Law & Society, Algorithmic Governance, and Democracy. His LL.M. paper was entitled “Re-adjusting the scope of Data Protection Law: Discriminatory Impacts of Online Behavioural Advertising in the Context of Algorithmic Profiling in the Age of Big Data” and was written under the supervision of Perry Keller.
Before joining Michèle Finck's Research Chair on the Law of Artificial Intelligence, Bilge worked as an attorney at BTS & Partners Law Firm, which is the one & only top-tier law firm in Turkey's IT & Telecom area. He participated in advice to be provided to local and international clients that are leading technology companies, in various areas, while mainly focusing on technology law, internet law, data protection, blockchain technology, and compliance. His research interests lie at the intersection of data protection and digital technologies, with a focus on the privacy-preserving communication scheme for C-ITS in the Edge computing context.
