Dr. Yang Yuda is member of the Institute of Chinese Historical Geography at Fudan University, Shanghai. He has obtained a one-year scholarship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Dr. Yang will contribute to the research group Monies, Markets, and Finance in China and East Asia, 1600-1900. He will focus on the production and marketisation of illegaly or privately traded copper in the province of Yunnan between 1722 and 1855.
