Admission is subject to a competitive selection procedure that includes individual interviews with faculty members. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in a video conference.
Application deadline: May 15.
Interviews with shortlisted applicants are scheduled for mid-June.
Letters of admission will be sent out by late June - early July.

Admission to the M. Sc. in Management and Economics (Managerial Economics) requires a Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Business Administration with excellent grades. Applicants are expected to have solid intermediate level knowledge in quantitative methods of economics and microeconomic theory. In addition, applicants must be fluent in English. Students entering with a 3-year Bachelor’s degree (amounting to 180 ECTS credits) are required to earn 30 additional ECTS credits (adding a fourth semester) in order to obtain a Master’s degree.

Managers operating in today’s global environment must be prepared to quickly react to changing business and market conditions, competitors’ actions, and internal governance problems. This calls for a systematic analysis of strategic interaction, comprehensive decision-making processes, and flexible adaptation strategies. The M.Sc. Management & Economics (Managerial Economics) offers a unique education by combining state-of-the-art management tools with game-theoretic concepts.
The courses offered in the program deal with the strategic behavior of competing firms and focus on implementing management tools within the firms to provide an informational basis for successful business strategies. Moreover, the program gives students extensive insights in the fields of managerial economics, personnel economics, and industrial organization.
Students of this program develop a unique set of analytical and professional skills grounded in advanced methods of game theory and principal-agent-theory. Graduating from this program, you will be able to select appropriate performance measures, design efficient incentive systems, and develop strategies to build up and maintain the human capital needed in the firm.

The Module Handbook describes the goals and structure of a degree program. In the module handbook, you will find details of the type of modules offered and their respective workloads as well as te classes, requirements and assessment. An ideal course plan is set out in the module handbook to help you plan your studies. The module handbook and the exam regulations help you to understand the framework and conditions of your program, and enable you to choose the right modules/ classes.
The exam regulations contain the legally binding regulations for a degree program. They set out, for instance, which modules must be taken and which assessment must be completed in order to successfully complete the degree program. The exam regulations also regulate how often exams may be repeated, which deadlines apply to assessment, and how the final grade is calculated. The exam regulations and the module handbook help you to understand the framework and conditions of your program, and enable you to choose the right modules/ classes.

The program offers the unique opportunity to study microeconomics combined with latest management tools. The strong focus on research prepared me perfectly for my empirical master thesis and my upcoming doctoral studies.

Due to its strong methodological focus, the M.Sc. in Management and Economics (Managerial Economics) serves as an excellent foundation for pursuing an academic career. Students may study the program on a Ph.D. track, putting themselves on a fast track to a doctoral degree. Completing this track requires you to obtain 18 ECTS credits from Ph.D. track courses that take students to the frontier of academic research.
