Open Lecture: Banning Terrorism, Performing Security

Lee Jarvis is Professor of International Politics at the University of East Anglia, UK. He received his PhD from the University of Birmingham in 2008 and then taught at Oxford Brookes University and Swansea University. His research focuses on the politics of counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, critical terrorism and security studies, and the social constructioin of terrorism. Jarvis published a large number of books and his articles appeared in high-ranking journals, such as Political Studies and Review of International Studies

Jarvis is the co-editor of the academic journal Critical Studies on Terrorism, and has founded and directed research networks including the multinational, multidisciplinary Cyberterrorism Project. He works with a range of non-academic partners, including policymakers, parliamentarians, police forces, advocacy groups, and local communities.
