Dagmar Zippel, Head of Recruiting at KPMG, talks to students via ZOOM

On 6 November 2024, Dagmar Zippel, Head of Recruiting at KPMG, spoke about recruiting and answered the students' questions in our last “Talk to a practitioner”-session of the lecture “B440: Personnel Economics”. The students were impressed to hear how many employees KPMG hires every year and how KPMG tries to find and attract the ‘right’ employees. In the Q&A session that followed, the students took the opportunity to learn more about the ‘ghosting’ behavior of applicants or the role of the CV when companies no longer require cover letters from their job applicants (as is the case for KPMG). The students were also curious about the use of AI in KPMG's recruitment process and whether and how KPMG tries to measures the cost of having hired the ‘wrong person’ for a particular role. The students enjoyed being able to interact and ask their questions to such a high-level practitioner as part of a regular course. We look forward to continuing the ‘Talk to a practitioner’ format.
