Who We Are

Meet the Tutors

Eva Marik was born in Darmstadt, Hessen. She moved to Herrenberg, Baden-Würtemberg, at a very young age where she was to grow up peacefully keeping a variety of pets. Her interest in languages comes from being raised in a bilingual household speaking English and German. She now studies Social and Cultural Anthropology, and English. In her free time, Eva determinedly tries to diminish the number of books on her ‘must read’ list and travels as much as possible.

Hannah Herrera was born and raised in the Central Valley of California and has always had an interest in other cultures and languages. In 2015, she decided to switch things up a bit by moving to Stuttgart, Germany to work as an Au Pair, although she had no knowledge of German (and definitely no knowledge of Schwäbisch) beforehand. She grew quite fond of the land of pretzels known as Southern Germany and decided to continue her education in Tübingen, where she completed her B.A. in Interdisciplinary American Studies in 2019. She is now pursuing an M.A. in American Studies. Hannah enjoys hiking and discovering new places in Germany, reading, trying new recipes, consuming coffee and TV series with friends, and most of all: true crime podcasts.

Lisa Landreh was born in Erlangen, Bavaria, and moved to the "Ländle" in 2003. After completing the Abitur in 2012, she joined the workforce in the world of hospitals and x-ray machines. In 2016, however, she decided to go to university and started to pursue a degree in Interdisciplinary American Studies. Lisa spent one year at Tufts University, Medford, MA (near Boston), and is currently a master's student in American Studies. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys reading books, especially thrillers, spending time with family and friends, or cheering for the local basketball team, the Kirchheim Knights. She also loves baking and playing with or walking her dog, Milow.
