The Preparatory Service (Traineeship)

In Baden-Württemberg, after the first state examination or the Master of Education, the preparatory service starts at the beginning of January (after the end of the Christmas holidays) and lasts until the end of the following school year (i.e. a total of 1 ½ years). During the preparatory service, the student teacher is assigned to a Seminar for the Training and Further Education of Teaching Staff. The seminars in Baden-Württemberg are located in Esslingen, Freiburg, Heidelberg, Heilbronn, Karlsruhe, Rottweil, Stuttgart, Tübingen and Weingarten.
