Die südkoreanische Literaturszene des 21. Jahrhunderts ist jung, innovativ und weiblich. Im Rahmen eines vom Literature Translation Institute of Korea geförderten Übersetzungsworkshops erarbeiten die Master-Studierenden Übersetzungen von Werken der Autorin SON Bo-mi. In Südkorea bereits mehrfach mit Literaturpreisen ausgezeichnet, wird SON Bo-mi hier zum ersten Mal ins Deutsche übersetzt und so dem interessierten Lesepublikum in Deutschland zugänglich gemacht. 
Die in der Lesung vorgestellte Kurzgeschichte „Wolkenbruch“ (im Original /P’og’u/) ist repräsentativ für das Werk der Autorin, das gesellschaftliche Probleme wie die Auswirkungen der Globalisierung, das Ungleichgewicht der Lebensverhältnisse verschiedener Gesellschaftsschichten und die daraus folgenden Kommunikations­schwierigkeiten zwischen den einzelnen Individuen thematisiert.

Die 4.-Mai-Bewegung oder Neue-Kultur-Bewegung (1919–1923) war ein Schlüsselereignis in der neueren Geschichte Chinas, mit weitestreichenden Nachwirkungen bis in die Gegenwart. Der Workshop findet am 2. und 3. Mai im China Centrum Tübingen (CCT) statt (Hintere Grabenstr. 26, 74070 Tübingen). The history of scientific, technical and medical exchange between Europe and China during the early modern period (16th to 19th centuries) is an important topic of research undertaken on a global level, but so far, much attention has been paid to special fields like astronomy, mathematics and cartography while other fields of practice and knowledge remain understudied. The targets of this event will be to share between colleagues mainly from China and Germany experiences obtained from relevant research and delineate fields of promising investigations.
