I am Walther Paravicini and have held the professorship in Mathematics and its Didactics since 2018. Before that, I was in Göttingen and Münster. In Münster, I received my PhD in Mathematics in 2007, and before my doctoral studies, I studied in Kiel and Cambridge.
I am interested in a variety of areas within Mathematics Didactics: from more content-related or even philosophical approaches in higher education didactics, to questions of talent development, to Mathematics at vocational high schools, which plays a larger role in the southwest of Germany than in most other parts of the country. I am also eager to explore digital tools like MatheBattle.
In my teaching, I aim to implement not only well-established formats such as seminars and lectures in subject teaching, but also more innovative concepts, such as those incorporating gamification elements or embodiment approaches. I am happy to cooperate with experienced educators, including in joint teaching formats.
