The Department of Neurophysiology, Institute of Physiology of the Eberhard Karls University, Tuebingen
is offering a postdoc position for two years (with the possibility of an extension and tenure), TV-L E 13, 100 %, starting from 01.05.2026.
A Ph.D. in Biology/Medicine or a related discipline is required. Sound knowledge of molecular biology (scRNA-Seq, spatial transcriptomics, design/production of viruses, etc.) and/or (in vivo) calcium imaging, including the corresponding analysis methods (Python, R), as well as experience in AI/ data science, will be appreciated.

The main institute’s research areas include:
- analysis of the interaction between the nervous and immune systems of the brain,
- priming and senescence of microglia,
- cellular/molecular basis of sleep-mediated learning,
- mechanisms of integration of adult stem cells in preexisting neural networks,
- normal brain aging and Alzheimer’s disease
The candidate is expected to contribute to teaching in neurophysiology (in German) and can integrate into the “Graduate School of Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience” or the Ph.D. program “Experimental Medicine”.
