Pride Month 2025: Tübingen turns colourful - for diversity and democracy

This year, once again, several events will take place in the City of Tübingen and at the University that invite people to engage with queer issues. In cooperation with local initiatives, the city administration and the university have put together a diverse program that includes lectures, workshops, readings, art exhibitions, concerts and much more. The events offer space for discussions, encounters and dialogue.

Pride Month has its origin in the Stonewall Riots of 1969 in New York, when the LGBTQIA+ community took a stand against discrimination and police violence. Since then, June has been celebrated worldwide as Pride Month to strengthen the rights of LGBTIQA+ people and recognize diversity.

The Centre for Gender and Diversity Research, in cooperation with the German-American Institute Tübingen and the university's Alumni Relations Office, is organizing an event on 30 June on "The Intersection of Right-Wing Ideologies and Queer Rights" for Pride Month 2025.
