B.Sc. Sports Science with the profile Media and Communication

The bachelor's programme "Sports Science with a Media and Communication Profile" (formerly Sports Journalism) combines the subjects of sports and media science over a period of six semesters. It is evident that the programme imparts students with a comprehensive understanding of sports and media science, while concurrently facilitating the acquisition of in-depth knowledge regarding subjects pertinent to sports journalism. This is achieved through the integration of theoretical seminars on media production and analysis, complemented by practical teaching methodologies. Furthermore, the programme incorporates courses on "soft skills", which are pivotal qualifications that equip students with the necessary skills to pursue their chosen field of employment. This combination is unique in Germany and, upon completion of the programme, students are equipped with the skills and knowledge to become sought-after experts in the field of media sports.
