Boards and Committees of the Tübingen School of Education

In view of more than 25 teacher training subjects and numerous educational science and other institutions that contribute expertise to teacher training in Tübingen, the committee structure of the Tübingen School of Education is designed to be integrative and participatory.

School Board

The central body is the School Board with more than 30 members und 24 deputies. This is where all key teacher training topics are discussed and decisions are made by consensus as far as possible. All teacher training faculties and other institutions relevant to teacher training as well as representatives of students and doctoral candidates are represented on the School Board. Important topics (e.g. quality development, mission statement, framework concept for subject didactics, promotion of early career researchers) are dealt with in working groups with flexible staffing, clearly defined strategies and time limits and prepared for further School Board meetings. This ensures that all stakeholders contribute their expertise. The School Board meets twice a semester and is chaired by the Director of the Tübingen School of Education. Teaching Board

The Teaching Board advises on general and interdisciplinary issues in the area of teacher training and makes recommendations to the Rectorate, the Deans' Offices and the Senate Commission for Studies and Teaching (SK-SL). It is chaired by Frank Loose and is made up of representatives from the teacher training subjects and all central institutions involved in teacher training at the University of Tübingen (Rectorate, TüSE, student representatives, ZV, ZDV). The Teaching Board contributes to ensuring and improving the quality of teacher training courses. As a rule, the Teaching Board meets once a semester. Contact person is Gabriele Kastl.

 

Advisory Board

Th Advisory Board is made up of external experts (educational science, educational research, foundation, business, school administration) and advises on fundamental issues relating to the Tübingen School of Education. The meetings are chaired by the Chairman, Prof. Dr. Peter Drewek, and meets once a year. Contact person is Dr. Nina Beck.

 

General Meeting

The General Meeting can make recommendations on all matters concerning the Tübingen School of Education and elects the School's Board of Directors on the recommendation of the University Executive Board. Lecturers, doctoral candidates, academic staff or postdocs of the University of Tübingen can become members. Please fill in the membership form ( Mitgliedsformular).
