Empirical educational research at the University of Tübingen is further strengthened

Hector Foundation pledges funding of 19 million euros

Since its foundation in 2014, the Hector Institute has been growing continuously. This has always been made possible thanks to financial support from the Hector couple. Now, the married couple Dr. h.c. Hans-Werner Hector and Josephine Hector have pledged 19 million euros over the next ten years as part of their commitment to the Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology.
The foundation's grant will help to strengthen the institute's international visibility in the long term and secure its position as one of Germany's leading educational research institutions. The institute's approximately 80 scientists aim to research and empirically validate the quality of educational offerings and educational processes. "Education is the most important resource we can pass on to the next generation. The generous grant will enable a new generation of scientific studies that will help to understand and improve educational processes," says Professor Ulrich Trautwein, director of the Hector Institute.
