Georg Felix Reuth

Georg Felix Reuth is a PhD candidate at the Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology. He investigates the intersection of educational technology and cognitive processes, with a particular emphasis on conversational AI and virtual reality. His current research examines the empirical relationship between self-regulated learning (SRL) strategies and learners’ interactions with conversational AI. This work is situated in schools and uses a self-developed, local, and privacy-first conversational AI system.

His work aims to answer whether a certain level of SRL competence is necessary for students to benefit from conversational AI; whether SRL processes can be identified from conversational logs and then supported adaptively; and whether conversational AI can be used effectively in group activities to support multiple learners.
