Heike Russ has been a research associate and PhD candidate since October 2022 at the Institute of Education, Department of School Education at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. She is part of the scientific working group “Teaching and learning with digital media“ of Prof. Dr. Andreas Lachner.

Her research focus in the DFG research unit “Lasting Learning: Cognitive mechanisms and effective instructional implementation“ includes embedding generative and retrieval activities to foster inquiry-based learning in science classrooms.

Since October 2024, she has been representing the mid-level faculty of School Education on the advisory board of the Institute of Education.

Heike Russ is a member of the Tübingen School of Education (TüSE) and is in the Tübingen Program for the Promotion of Young Academics TüNaPro. She is also an associate member of the LEAD Graduate School & Research Network.
